Dick:
If I were going that route I might consider the FUJI FinePix S1 Pro. Although it does not have a removable HD the Super CCD technology give 6 mega pixels for less than $6K on a Nikon F-mounted body. It has a 1.1 inch CCD and 2 inch LCD with built in USB capability. I'm not sure if the Nikon has the USB isn't that removable flash card?
If you're going pro, which I think both the Nikon, Canon, and Fuji SLRs are, you're going to spend quite a bit of money. I'd love to own one of the Fuji cameras. I've got a Nikon F3 and it's been going strong for almost 20 years.
I still think USB is a great choice for downloading images to the CPU. I've got a pretty good set up and love the flexibility and the speed of getting high res documents into the computer. Even though the floppy is convenient, there's no room for expandability with that medium.
Since Uncle Wayne can afford it can we all get one from him?
