Not at all ... and here's why ...
When Playboy went bellyup ... the casino operator had to deposit with the NJ Gaming authorities an amount equal to the outstanding value of unredeemed PB chips. For 20 years, anyone could have turned in Playboy chips (excluding backup chips that were never in play) at face value, plus interest. Very few people took advantage of this long standing policy because the chips were worth more as a collectible than they were to redeem at face value. All of this has changed with this new discovery. The State of NJ is not going to redeem chips that have already been redeemed and should have been destroyed. Does anyone really expect otherwise today??
Got any Brighton or Sands chips you want to redeem at face value? You still can at the NJ Casino Control Commission. Or you can take your chances that they have all been destroyed.
