Hey Wayne,
I'm using a Kodak DCS 420 digital camera at work. It is Great! It has a Nikon body modified to hold the electronics and a 520 Mbyte hard drive - which is removable. What is nice about the camera, is that it will take any std Nikon lens! Also with the removable hard drive downloading is very easy. There is also a SCSI interface if one chooses not to remove the hard drive.
The advantage of the hard drive is that the images are written to disk faster than on the floppy. Yet most computers don't have the hard drive adapter needed to access the cameras hard drive...
This is definitely a professional camera and not for the average consumer...
One thing to consider about any digital camera (or other toy) is what type of batteries they use. If they are Li Ion, then depending on were you take the camera, you may not be able to find replacements... Thus a camera with a "standard" battery (e.g. AA), would make it easier to "reload" for the next shot.
Long post, yet the last paragraph is the important thing to consider as well as what media Vs download time to the computer/printer.
Regards,
Dick
