You've got some very nice ones there Lyle. Beauties! I like to snag them as I drive around the state and even being newer issues, some aren't seen much as the joints may be off the beaten path. I've been lucky to make it to all of these places, stayed at a few, played at a few. I did purchase the Strugeon's f/s as I didn't spot any matches when I did a walk-through. Been to the Truck-In as a tourist and as a trucker. Sometimes the matches are a surprise. Last time at the 4-Way in Wells, I found all the matchbooks were from Donna's Ranch, featured a naked "cowgirl"... at least surmising from her entire outfit, boots and hat. Not even any pasties. Glad I don't travel with kiddies.
Yes, the books from the defunct properties are pretty cool, I remember the Golden Phoenix as you do. Glad I got that matchbook and last game in at the nearby Sundowner. MGM Grand Reno, Reno Hilton got changed. Never made Bally's there but I got the matches around somewhere. The Ho and the Stardust. Better load up on Riv matches and cross our fingers this year!
Still got a fondness for pretty chips and pretty mathcbooks, even if they are old.
