Though I won't use the term "fading" - I will say
In Response To: Is the hobby fading? ()

... that I expected our hobby to catch on a bit more than it has thru the years; especially since the CCGTCC club was formed.. and then the sub-chapters which eventually became independent clubs (with even more clubs forming). I surely thought that there would have been thousands of collectors joining us thru the 90s when casino jurisdictions started popping up all over the country... and I surely thought the United Kingdom, South America, Europa and Asia would have produced at least a few thousdand chip collectors when their jurisdictions started to branch out; especially with the vast gaming history in France, Germany and Belgium. Then, when eBay came about, I thought surely hundreds more Europeans would have become interested in American casino chips as many Americans became interested in theirs. It's not that Europeans do not collect. They do, but there's just very little interest in casino chips. I'm really amazed at how few collectors there are in Canada, too... especially in Québec.
