Gene, since you seem to have done some checking on Rene's Havana chips, I'm wondering about the "Bon Air" hub mold chips that were part of that find. Rene attributed them to a club owned by the Bonnett family in Havana. I believe the Mason records clearly show the chips were sold to the Bon Air Country Club in Wheeling, IL, so I had pretty much discounted all these Havana IDs. But it now sounds like there's support for some of them.
So, did any information turn up that might justify moving this ID from my "DEAD WRONG" colomn to my "POSSIBLE but FOREVER UNPROVEABLE" column? If your librarian knew of a Bon Air club in Havana I'd love to hear about it. It's possible these chips could have migrated south after William Johnson was sentenced to 5 yrs for tax evasion in 1940.
