...The tokens look great! It was amazing how much grime was on them...details are much clearer now.
I left the proof tokens alone, and just cleaned all the regular tokens I picked up over the years out of machines.
I'm thinking the goobers were left over alcohol dribbles...they washed off quite easily using Soft Scrub cleanser with a soft toothbrush.
