Re: NCR: Can You/Should You Clean Tokens?

If the tokens are well used, you can clean them to make them more attractive if you like, as they have little collector value.

If they are unused, I would leave them as they are. The goobers may be surface toning which is not a problem. If the surfaces are proof-like (very shiny like a mirror) don't even wipe the dust off. Hairline scratches from even slight abrasion will significantly reduce the value of proof and proof-like coins and tokens.

If the spots are corrosion, there's little you can do other than pay a restoration service a large fee to make it less visible. Corrosion spots will likely get larger with time as the surface continues to degrade.
