If you just look at the cost of gasoline, there is a definite effect. At the Atlantic City Casino Collectibles Club, attendance has been lower, especially from those who have to travel a distance to make the meetings. At the last meeting, I was the only attendee from NY and there were no attendees from CT. We always get 10 or so attendees from NY and CT at each meeting. My thought is that the cost of gas is the major factor effecting attendance.
I also have to imagine that chip runs have also been negatively effected by the cost of gas. You can't brake even, no matter how many chips you pick up to trade or sell, after factoring in the mileage cost of a chip run.
