Bob; I was comparing my personal experiences when accessing newspaper websites such as the Atlantic City Press, The Asbury Park Press, etc. I noticed that NO ads appear on these websites. In fact, many of the news stories that I've provided hyperlinks to on this bb, do not even carry the accompanying photos that are published on the hard copy newspaper pages. All they provide is the newsprint story.
As for the small potatoes vs. big potatoes.... there are organizations with far more members than CCGTCC has that does not provide their larger membership with on-line copies of their magazine... and some of them have full-time staff. I'm sure that you will be able to cite some groups of smaller members that do. I don't disagree with you that the technology currently exists to do this. I simply don't like to burden people who have volunteered to do a particular job with more duties than they had bargained for. If I agree to do job "X", I may not be as enthusiastic with the function I volunteered for if I'm pressured to do "Y" as well. Sometimes the additional duties imposed on people become a burden when the original job function may have been an enjoyable one if left alone to perform and accomplish. Just my thoughts on the matter....
