Mini-Book Review - The Slot Card Book

I received my copy of Carolyn Donley's "The Slot Card Book"
on Friday and now have been using it for two days to catalog
my slot card traders and about 25% of my collection.

The spiral bound book of 125 pages covers over 1100 card types
from over 25 states, card illustrations front and back are in color
at 25% of full size. I had questions about the illustration size
in my initial look at them but they have very good detail and
with a reading glass even fine print on the card backs can be
verified. About 5% of the cards listed are not illustrated.

I would strongly recommend the book to slot card collectors.
It is a good value for the price and will be a big help in the
collectiong of slot cards. Since it reflects one collectors
collection I find about 30% of the cards in my collection not
listed, which was to be expected. With catalog numbers slot
card collectors will now be able to issue want and trade lists
using catalog numbers.

I have found only a very few typo, editorial or electronic
publishing errors in the book. This was a very complex book to
publish and the very low error rate reflects good editing.

I wish some reference would have been made to what plans if
any exist for future editions. Also some method to suggest
how card additions could be made should have been included.

I want to thank Carolyn for a job well done. The book is available
from her at: Carolyn Donley, PO Box 80572, Las Vegas, NV 89180 for
$29.95 + $3.20 shipping. NV residents please add sales tax.
