the BOD actually discussed at the last meeting. Originally we discussed canceling the Trade session during the Poker tournament as well and not having one on Auction night.

However since we wanted to keep the trading schedule as much as possible we decided that the Poker Tournament was a non issue. This tournament always sells out and usually does well in advance of the convention. Since the event couldnt hold any more people than it already had, there was no real reason to hold trading during that event.

We also decided to add back the Trade session after the auction as we still want to provide as much oportunity for traders as possible.

I am sorry to hear that your friend is thinking about not coming to the convention. I realize that a lot of people enjoy the trade sessions but please conside this:

There is Still 17 hours of club sponsored trading scheduled
There are still 3 days of Bourse floor action
There is Still the Early Bird Get Together
There is Still the Banquet
There is Still the BJ and Poker Tournaments
There is Still the Auction
There are Still numerous seminars
There is Still lots of chips, chippers and friends.

I for one cant imagine missing all that because of a few lost hours of trading.
