Hi Mark,
I thought I would comment upon your remark so as not to confuse our "new" collectors. The $1.00 Scarlet Wagon is an excellent chip. A few years back about 15 pieces surfaced. Some of them had badly worn hot stamps others were very good. Gordon Hall purchased them and subsequently sold what he had left to another dealer. The chip is very difficult to obtain and in my opinion worth considerably more than the $160 + dollars currently bid.
The Cinco chip is a perfect example of manipulated "rarity". I wouldn't give you face value for it. It is in my opinion a "pog". I realize many collectors desire such an item and I am not putting them down for what they collect. However, rest assured there is much difference between the two chips. The Scarlet Wagon has history, character and is a much sought after chip. It is a prime example of the black owned casinos and is in demand by Nevada collectors, Las Vegas collectors and $1.00 collectors. The Cinco chip is only in demand by those who don't know any better <g>. Just kidding about them not knowing better. They do but yet still collect those "things". Best, Jim
