Story #1 - I posted a note here a few weeks ago about some Hard Rock Cafe pins that I had laying around. I knew that people collected them so when I saw them for $ .50 at a yard sale I figured "What the heck". I offered to trade them for chips but got no takers. I probably would have traded for a $1 chip or two. I sold them this week on eBay for $12.51. Enough said.
Story #2 - There is only one decent antique show in Knoxville, TN and I have had a little luck finding chips at the show. The problem is that the entrance fee is $3 unless you want to get in early and then it is $25. For some unknown reason I received a flyer from the operator of the show to either set up at the show or apply for the early bird pass. While the charge for the pass is outrageous, they only wanted $35 to set up with an 8 foot long table. Since I have trouble passing up a good deal on anything I have been accumulating things for years that I don't really want but are too good to just resell at a yard sale. Needless to say I signed up for a table at the show and got my two early bird passes for the wife and I. She will watch the table while I try to find chips and ashtrays to buy. If anyone has literature for the club or convention I would be happy to put it out at my table.
