I received an angry email demanding to know why I would do such a thing, and claiming that I've just destroyed the vaue for "everyone" that had those chips

It was followed by another email that apologized for yelling, and explained that the sender has "some" of the same chips and was working on a deal, and just saw the value "go in the toilet" . That email also requested that I remove my post to "minimize the damage" since my chips were all sold anyway.

The third email said that according to Campiglia the chips are R-10, $150-$200-$300, and I sold them way too cheap. I could have offered them for $100 and sold them all. Since I sold them for $50, people will think that's all they're worth...that there's been a hoard found.

Here's my take on it....

My husband and I have had a set of the chips for quite awhile. So...when we found 8 of them at an antique shop, I knew what they were. We bought them at a very good price, discussed it, and decided to offer them to others at a good price. Period. No hoard...full disclosure. Just wanted to share our good luck, and not be greedy.

Not that it matters much, but I've lost a LOT of respect for the chipper that sent me those emails. Seems like he wants to get as much as he can for his chips, however many he has, which is fine...that's his perogative. HOWEVER, I think I (and others) have the right to sell our chips for whatever we choose. This sounds like the same thing that happened to Von, when he offered some chips for sale...and I think it sux!

After a little thought, I did remove my original post, as requested. But I only removed it AFTER deciding to make another post, this post, to give more of the story.

To the chipper that emailed me, no...I will NOT remove my "All sold" post, as your fourth email implied that I should. And, why do you want to know where we found our chips? Do you think it might have been the same place you found yours? Yes..it might have been. Does that mean there might be more? I haven't a clue, nor do I really care. Don't bother sending me any more emails. I might remove this post after I settle down...or I might not.

To the lucky three that bought our chips--you bought from a hobbyist, not from a dealer...I hope you enjoy the chips!
