The Republic of Lebanon is situated on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea between Syria and Israel. Archeologists believe Byblos Lebanon is the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, dating back to 5000BC. Since Lebanon’s independence in 1943 its history has been pot marked by much instability and attacks.
The note selected is a very colorful 10,000 Livre (1 Livre = 100 Piastres) issued on Martyr's Day 1998.. The front has a stylized landscape Embedded Iridescent plachets in paper. On the back is a Patriotic Monument Printed by Thomas De la Rue Ltd. (TDLR) The water mark is a Cedar Tree, and contains UV markings and Security Thread. The note also has a bar code of the serial number; these are beginning to show up on some of the newer designed world notes. This note in UNCirculated condition carries a $17.50 book value. ENJOY!!
