Re: Do you have a larger scan of the bookcover?

I have finally figured out how to properly submit a larger pic. So I resubmitted the whole thing on the board. Thanks for your interest and if you think you may have some interest in the book, please read the following email I sent to others also interested,as an answer to their inquiry

"When I was first convinced to write down my experiences of having been
inside all of the Saratoga illegal casinos, years before they unfortunately
burned to the ground, I was reluctant at first, not withstanding surviving
relatives, but then decided to give it a whirl. I was convinced by others,
that I could offer inside glances to structures and establishments that were
long gone by 40 or fifty years, and possibly answer a few questions that
still persist, or on peoples minds, if only by mere curiosity. Well little
did I know of the various bumps and detours I’d run into on the way. After
having almost lost all my work to a virus and luckily having it rescued., I
found out it all was done on Microsoft Works and when I went to talk to a
Publisher/Printer, that it had to be on Microsoft Word to be able to be
compatible with most of today’s printers, So I had to spend some additional
time transposing the work to Word format which was not a mere copy and paste
routine, as the format and sizing was entirely different between Works and
Word. Getting this accomplished,we set to work setting it up for producing
the first galley proofs, Besides making spelling and grammatical
corrections, the next biggest and hardest hurdle was yet to come, and is the
reason the Book took a year and a half in the making despite the two hour
operation on my right hand (I’m right handed) caused by my own stupidity and
age clumsiness. This slowed the process down even more.
As it was, I had decided to have the book done in color versus black and
white or sepia. Well to my surprise and lack of knowledge, I found out that
my transposing to the Master copy colored pictures garnered from various
internet sources, scanned pics, pics from digital cameras, and other various
and sundry sources, even though they looked very good when viewed on my
computer Master, their original programs which produced them, the various
programs I used to achieve colors close to their actual, and the computer
programs connected to the printing process often produced colors nowhere
near those viewed on a Master CD, which I had made a copy of, with
intentions of having the Printer use it to produce the Book.
I had realized that I could never probably get the colors dead on, but I did
want them reasonably close, I also knew that it would be more costly to
produce, but I felt it was the only proper way to go if the Book were to
ever be used for referencing purposes and a valuable and an interesting tool
to fellow collectors.
Well as it was, some pics on one page would come out great, and then on
other pages blues would be purple or lavender, whites would be pink. greens
would be gray and many other variations would occur. This is what we had
been spending hours and hours trying to rectify, and I would not allow this
Book to go out until all these problems could be resolved. We had to use
every possible solution we could come up with, to possibly correct each and
every chip on an individual basis. We were getting to a point where we had
some chip colors close, with only a slight variation, but close enough to be
recognizable to the actual. and ready to make a Final Print. I tell you all
this to explain why it ran up the costs to over thirty bucks a book. Tho I'd
love to give you a book to read, I had to make the decision to recoup some
of the three grand and being on retirement income which I spent producing
the run of a hundrd copies,I had to make the decision to sell them, with no
exceptions at $34.95 , but still intending to sell the Book at my original
projected price. I’ve worked too hard and too long, overcome too many
obstacles and now have my heart and soul into this project, to let it just
die, even if it meant I merely wrote off production and writing costs, and
it merely becomes my legacy to the Chip Collectors World.
Again, thankyou for any and all interest, and do not want to be mercenary
about any of it. I still want to talk.....I'd love to purchase any and all
chips you may be able to acquire for my own collection. would love to have
you view my Collection any time.....and hope you decide to keep in touch.
