LONG Clip but VERY Informative!

Glad I listened. It won't just affect the sellers because they will pass the added fees to the buyers. So the sellers lose customers and the customers pay more (fees passed to them) and they don't return. EBay is trying to do the opposite and attract customers and have them have a better 'experience'. A lot of the discussion revolved around shipping. Sellers have an uneven playing field, one seller ships T-shirts in a large envelope and an art dealer ships in expensive crates, then you have s/h price gouging sellers. What leaves a bad taste is paying one price then after the item is received the postage cost was only a fraction of what they paid. This causes the "Shipping" rating to go down. With the rating lower the seller does not qualify for discounts. Plus end fees are going up disproportional to listing fee discounts. EBay would like to see 'free' shipping, there is no such thing as 'free shipping' the buyer pays somewhere. If the shipping is shifted to the item price EBay gets a boost on commission, if item costs are shifted to shipping the buyer feels shafted. I agree that the "Total Cost" should be looked at by the buyer, but agree shipping should reflect a fair and true cost. I see why sellers shift the costs to avoid fees and commissions, I don't think the seller OR eBay is right in doing that.

I have to admit, I do not believe a boycott will even be seen by eBay. I don't think there is enough awareness or support and members are complacent as well as the massive tide of hits eBay gets (buyers and sellers WANT to connect).
