Today’s banknote comes from Japan. It is a constitutional monarchy situated off the east coast of Asia.

The note selected today is a 1969 issue of the 1,000 Yen. It is one of the most recognizable of the Japanese notes. (Front) Prince Hirobumi Ito at right. Flowers at lower center. (Back) The old headquarters of Nippon Ginko – (Bank of Japan) at center. This note has the watermark of Hirobumi in profile with no security thread or UV Markings. Because this note is in Very Fine condition it carries a $10.00 book value.
