NCR, BankNote of the Day.....

Today’s note comes from Russia just after the last Czar, Nicholas II’s reign. Russia was deep in the middle of a civil war that lasted five years. Many governments, national states and armies in the field were formed which issued their own paper currency.

The note is a 1919 issue 30 Ruble note which is a rather odd denomination as we are accustomed. Because of its multi-language text these notes are often called “Babylonians.” The front is olive under print design with denomination and multi-language text. The back has an excellent display of the Russian Hammer & Sickle arms at center flanked by the denomination. The note is in Fine condition and carries a book value of $1.50. ENJOY!!
