Visit the Splashbar During the Convention

If you’re a regular reader of the Chipboard than you have definitely heard of Brian Cashman, otherwise known as "Mr. Splashbar".

I have seen many ask exactly what is the Splashbar so I decided to tackle this subject in today's post.

What the Splashbar is to me is a fantastic place to meet new people, talk chips, have a few laughs, catch up with old buddies and make lots of new friends.

Each year for the past 4 years the Splashbar has grown into what is quickly becoming a legend.

Quietly tucked away in the rear of the Riviera, the Splashbar is gaining quite a following among chippers. While it is a far cry from the famous Las Vegas Hotspots, Brian has single handedly made this small bar the "Place to Be" for chipping friends.

Every year the group of chippers grows larger and larger for the entire convention week. No matter what time you pass by the bar, day or night, you can be sure there is a group of chippers there waiting to welcome you.

The highlight of the week is the annual Splashy Award given each year to one lucky chipper who is voted to best show the spirit of the Splashbar from the previous convention. I am proud that I myself was awarded the 1st annual award a few years back and I also wanted to congratulate Ron "BAM Brother" May who was last years winner and Aaron "Peacocks Cant Fly" Peacock the 2008 winner.

With all the kidding aside, this is the one place during the convention at the Riviera that you can meet up with all your friends and share some good times. Even tea totalers are welcome as many of the visitors come never partake in the actual Bar.

If your coming to the convention for the first time, I highly recommend making it by the Splashbar and introducing yourself to the crowd. You will be surprised at how easily you are welcomed into our group and it is the easiest way to make new friends in this hobby on at your
first convention.

The legend of the Splashbar has grown so big that the name of the bar has even changed overt the past year. However to us chippers, that makes no difference as no matter what the bar is called, it will ALWAYS be the Splashbar to us.

If you make it to the convention, be sure to stop by the Splashbar and say hello to the guy with the big Cigar as that will most likely be me.
