Best Bang For Your Buck-Mid Strip

In my opinion, is Planet Hollywood. The rates are very reasonable, and the rooms were all done over recently so they have a fairly new feel

AND

the $20 trick works like a charm there. If you don't know what that is, here is what you do: Book yourself into the cheapest room at the hotel. You slip a $20 between your credit card and drivers license at check in. When the front desk agent sees it, they will either a) give you a nice upgrade or b) pocket your $20 and make like it was never there.

It has worked for me and my friends every time at PH. You usually get upgraded to a nice junior suite overlooking the Bellagio fountains. Can't beat it with a stick!

P.S. I have never had the $20 trick NOT work at a Vegas or A/C hotel. The worst that ever happened was an agent tried to return the $20 saying "I can't accept that, because I have no upgrades". I said no problem, keep it anyway. She had room service send me a half dozen jumbo chocolate chip cookies and two pints of chocolate milk, and the following day, there was a coupon book in my room with a bunch of freebies. Once at Caesaras, the agent said she had no upgrades but rebooked my room at a 15% discount. The $20 saved me $80. Don't be shy. It works.
