In a thread below the term 'cleaned chip' was used and that brought a question to mind that has been kicked around here before with mixed feelings. Some have said that the dirty grungy chips represent 'history' in the dirt and grime, others have said they prefer a clean chip for various reasons (one visual appeal and another sanitary reasons).
QUESTION: If there were 2 chips for sale, otherwise identical including price, would you buy the clean one or the dirty one? AND if there were no option for a clean chip, would you clean it? (remove the excess dirt & grunge)

Personally I would always go for the cleaner, and more pristine if given a choice.
There are a few (very few) exceptions in my currency where I would go for a dirty, worn note, but not for a chip.
