in London. Went to a casino far from our hotel two underground, a five block walk and twenty min. later. Only to be told open at 8PM. Went back at 9PM, only refused entrance because shoes were not leather. I had a coat and tie on and not tennis shoes, but slip on dockers. I tried my best to find a shoe store, but no luck this late at night. I went crazy we were leaving in the AM. I knew a coat and tie was required, also no tennis shoes. Even tried to give the doorman 10 pounds, still no luck. So, all over Europe some casinos are formal. Be prepared. I also, have been to some casinos that will loan the c/s a coat and tie! Crazy rules, some jeans are OK if with a coat and tie, and proper shoes. Also, most are quite, no yelling and screaming at the crap table, if they have one. Rou. is the game, and untill recently not many if any slots. Imagine having these rules downtown Vegas? LOL
