I am sorry that I didn't explain better in my post. I did not mean to imply that these tokens are worthless. To any specific collector these tokens can be quite valuable. However, these tokens in and of themselves are not redeemable by the casino. When the spacequest tokens were put into play at the Hilton, they even had a sign stating they were worth $100.00 however, when the set was won, they only offered the the tokens and not a choice of the $100.00 that their sign said they were worth. On the other side, is when I won the $200 Fitzgerald Silver Strike, the kept asking me if I wanted the $200.00, and because I kept saying no, it took them over half an hour to bring me the token. (Collector value of Spacequest tokens now are probably visualizing $400-$600 range last I heard, but I don't keep up with them)
All of these tokens are collectible and worth what the collector is willing to pay to obtain them.
What I meant by my post is that these are NOT gaming tokens and not redeemable by the casino of issue since they are not "gaming tokens", and that's why I do not include them in my guide.
Surprising too is the number of e-mails regarding the other .999 Fine Silver tokens issued by casino's like the ones which I have pictured below. People asking me why they couldn't find them in my guide and what they are worth now. I also get lots of e-mail regarding the $25 and $100 Gaming tokens which are used in the slot machines that are .999 Fine Silver.
Hope I've explained this better.
