I hear a lot of people complaining but very few willing to do something productive and volunteer to help. I hope more people step forward. If people expect the club to be there for them, they need to sometimes be there for it. There are so many ways to volunteer.

The planning committee is one way for members to help shape and build the club. The club always needs Mentors for new members (if you are not a mentor, why not? all longer-term members should be mentors) and volunteers for the convention (hey, if you're there anyway, give a few hours of your time). I hear it needs a Recruitment director. I also understand there are various ideas the BOD wants to implement but it needs people willing to give some of their time.

The next time people are seen as complaining, I hope they are pointed to this thread or the one on the club board and told to step up to volunteer instead of stepping up to complain.

To all members: I have stepped forward. My voice will be heard. Will yours?
