Pacifism may be the chosen mindset of a few, but those whose mindset is pacifism are only free to practice it because of the sacrifices of the men and women in our military and the military's of our allies. That freedom is much better "news" than living under tyranny or being the victims of genocide.
"The Republican position is this "war" must be "won" at ALL costs - even if that means hundreds or thousands more of our men and women have to die so that they can claim "victory" (whatever their current version of the word is)."
No, but I wouldn't expect a pacifist to understand war or the reasons for it. I also wouldn't expect a pacifist to understand why the actions of the left wing major media cost us more casualties in this war by broadcasting our plans and troop movements to our enemies, and by publishing top secret and classified documents. Their vested interest is our defeat, plain and simple.
"The Democratic position is that our men and women are dying so that Bush can play the world's policeman and we want our soldiers to come home."
Once again, you don't understand the reasons for war, and probably never will.
