An apology to the Club and its members.....

After several conversations with members who I respect (you know who you are) and several emails for members, some supporting me and some asking for my head I am issuing an apology to the CC>CC, it's BOD and its members. My intentions were in no way to hurt this club or to sway anybody from staying at the Riviera for the convention. I personally have stayed at the Riviera for both years I attended the convention and although I could have stayed elsewhere for free, it was more convenient to stay there. I just have a few suggestions as regards to the room block:

1.If you paid for your rooms last year and played in the casino and can be comped this trip, it should count toward the room block. The reason you are being comped is because you are contributing to the casino's bottom line.

2.Lets have the BOD recommend to the Riviera that when a member intends to gamble at the Riviera he or she presents their players card and their club membership # to the pit boss. This would take the pit boss a few extra seconds and would show the Riviera that the members of the club are indeed gamling and supprting the Riviera. I walked over to the Hilton during our convention to see the Star Trek convention and the casino looked like the deck of the U.S.S. Enterprise. It is alot easier to tell a Trekkie from a chip collector.

As for individual apologies:

Wayne Thompson. I apologize and am sorry that it went this far. I was informed after the fact about the problems with the Riviera. I never should have allowed my post to get personal. You have been with the club alot longer than me and are respected not only as our leader but from my understanding an overall nice guy. I look foward to sitting down with you and expressing this in person.

Mike Skelton. I apologize and am also very sorry. I never should have made the post about the suite and the pizza. It was unfair and childish.

Jim Follis. I apologize for calling you a "rat" last year. I also apologize about my post. You are an asset to the club and do a great job with the OTY's.

All of the members of the CC>CC. I apologize if I have offended anyone. Sometimes I get so passionate about something that my jugdement gets clouded. Not making excuses, just letting you know how I get.

I now have a greater understanding of the pressures and time that goes into making this club run as well as the convention. I am offering my services in any way to help. I have some connections at The Orleans and will see if there is anyway we can do it there.

I know that this post will be seen in 2 different lights. Some will think that I am backing down and some will think that I was wrong. Neither one could be farther from the truth. I am making this apology because I feel it doesn't benefit either party involved. The club needs its members support as well as it's officers to do the best for the club.
