What happens if there are no more chips? Opinions?

I posted further down the board in the thread Pam started regarding paper vouchers replacing casino chips. But since my post is pretty buried in that thread, I thought I would start a new one. Say it happens: one day in the future the last casino chips are replaced by paper, or some other piece of technology. Will our collections become more valuable, less valuable, or completely redundant? Would the hobby continue? People do collect "obsolete technology" and memorabilia of course, but not in all cases. Opinions?

A casino without chips = a night without stars
if I cant play with chips, I wont play at all.
