WOW! Talk about luck of the draw.....

I stopped over at the Desert Diamond Casino (on the way home from work, as it is a block away) looking for any of the $25 LE's. I turned up empty on those (but will keep trying) but spotted a few $5's. Actually, the $5's are everywhere. They must have put the remaining chips onto the tables.

As I understood it, about 100 (serial numbers 0001 - 0100) were matched with the $25 and given to elders/leaders of the Nation. Two hundred were set-aside for the poker room give-away, leaving about 4,700 for the casino trays, as you can't just go to the cage and buy a bunch. (I could only buy what happened to be turned-in, and even then the cashier had to ask if it was OK. At first she told me to go to the blackjack tables.

Anyway, when I got home and looked at what serial numbers I got, I was very surprised to see that the serial numbers are not printed on the chips, but instead are engraved, probably with a laser, as many of them still had debris filling the etched out area.

While carefully removing that debris, imagine my surprise when I saw this serial number!

If I can't get #1, then my next choice is the last number in the series. That is what I mean by luck of the draw! Also, each chip is coin-aligned.

Thanks for looking,

Jim
