LVA Jessica needs your help again! I'm trying to get to the bottom of a reader's question about the former Old Vegas casino/theme park complex out in Henderson. I'm not finding much about it and what there is conflicts. What I've deduced is that it was originally an old ranch (called West World???) that was used as a TV/movie set once it ceased to be operational and was then bought by the Old Tucson amusement park people, who opened the casino and theme park in 1978 and, at the last minute, decided to change the name to Old Vegas. But they'd already had the chips made to say West World and never bothered getting them changed. The park operated until 1986 and was subsequently turned into a housing development, also called Old Vegas.

Is *any* of this correct??!! Any light anyone out there can shed would, as always, be much appreciated.
