Hope it is okay to steal your poem!
I could use it to try and inject some common sense into people.
I is a pollotician...politsion... and am going broke because I don't have any special interest group support. Even at the county commissioner level over 1 million was spent on some Las Vegas campaigns. Its not neccesarily the politicians you need to fix, its the system of political donations and favors. Even though I have plenty of support from average joe, I'm being eaten alive by the big players and their lawyers. 100 years ago people took care of themselves and didn't rely on the government for much of anything. Now you get complaints from there is a pothole in the road to I am too stupid to read the fine print and now I can't pay the mortgage. Unfortunately most of the time we can blame ourselves for the problems we create. I've come up with a new medical condition called DSS!(Dumb Sh## Syndrome) Seems there is a lot of it going around and the governments solution is to raise taxes to support it. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.....Doug
