Seriously, though, Carl, excellent point! When the Indian woman across the aisle at work from me sneezes, I always say "Bless you" and she always says "Thank you" because she knows from me that is wish for wellness. Likewise, when the entire Indian population of my company was dressed up for Diwali, I was not offended at all. Instead, it put me in a good mood. Everyone was dressed in very festive clothes and in a very good mood. It was cool. Kind of like we get at Christmas with our little snowmen sweaters and miniture nativity scenes.
I seem to find the only people who get offended are those whose faiths are easily challenged. Perhaps a little more time in their chosen place of worship would help instead of picketing Office Max or Sears.
