This question is for the dealers out there. What do you look for when grading a Bud Jones type coin-in-center chip? I have a handle on evaluating other chips. You can scrutinize a few different factors, like the condition of the edges, the cross hatching and the presence of nicks/dings, etc.
When I evaluate these BJ Coin chips, I feel like I am at a loss! They have a smooth, uniform and very durable surface. The wear is just not apparent to me. If there is no obvious flaw, the pretty much all seem close in condition to me. I don't know how to seperate a good one from a very good one.
Any insight?
