I wanted to add one final point to this discussion that might further explain why I do it things the way I do. My bank is 15 miles away. I get 30 miles to the gallon. Gas is $2.95 per gallon today. One trip to the bank to cash a check costs me $2.95 to deposit a check. My local post office is 9 miles away. Not as far, but it still costs me roughly $1.75 in gas to make one trip. That has to be added into the equation in any sale I make that requires me to go to the post office or bank. No small consideration unless you are a power seller and can spread those costs over multiple sales. Otherwise, I can buy stamps at work and do all my banking online. No gas required.
