I don't take anything you've said as an attack, and your point is dead on. I am a seller of stuff from time to time. I am not in the business of selling anything. If it costs me too much in time, gas and energy to have to make regular trips to the PO and/or bank (which I never do otherwise), then I simply won't do business that way. If you are in the business of selling, I agree you should not limit your options. If that's the point of differentiation, we are in complete agreement. I am content to do minor selling on ebay and I always make sure I make money on the transaction or else I don't post an ad. If you are posting $1 chips and hoping to make money in the process, I hope you only paid face value for the chips and you charge more for shipping than you pay yourself. If you then charge say $3 for a $1, paid face for it and then charge say $1.75 for the shipping but it costs you say $1.13, you still make roughly $1.50 on the transaction even after the cost of a mailer. Volume is everything if you are selling low denomination chips.
Also, unless you are "in the business" of selling, having a paypal account costs you nothing as long as you only have a personal account, accept money from checking accounts only (everyone has one) and limit your transactions I think to $500 per month (guessing here, not completely sure and don't want to spend the time to get the number exact). I pay ZERO to buy or sell using my paypal account. Nor should anyone else unless they are "in the business" of selling on ebay.
