A number of clubs in Washington state have ordered and used these chips over the years, trying to save a buck. You quickly realize they don't work very well in a serious poker game. These are sometimes refered to as "pinochle" chips (as they can be used to keep score in pinochle, or other similar games), pinochle being one of the card games that is actually allowed to be played for money historically in Washington.
