Army colonel Langan is exposed to massive amounts of radiation after a nuclear experiment backfires. Unexpectedly, he is not killed, but his body chemistry is altered, causing him to grow at the rate of 10 feet per day. When he reaches the height of 70 feet, the radioactivity seems to affect Langan's brain too, and he begins to wreak havoc on nearby Las Vegas. Not simply looking for a jumbo-sized poker game, the colossal man is finally killed in a rather exciting conclusion at Boulder Dam. One of the first atomic mutation horror films of the fifties, it is also one of the most absurdly entertaining. The scenes detailing Langan's growth and his attack on Vegas are quite memorable.
