I bid on a sellers "PayPal Only" item last week ... and got a prompt that "you have exceeded your limit. Please update your PayPal account." I found this strange because I've been using paypal for bidding only ... not selling.

I called paypal and spoke to a live representative who claims that I have exhausted my $2000 lifetime Mastercard limit and that I must provide my bank checking account information ... which I refuse to do. I explained that I only use paypal when bidding, not selling. Why would I need to provide paypal with my bank account? The rep says because paypal needs an avenue to deposit funds INTO my account. "Why" ... I asked, "would PayPal need to DEPOSIT funds into my account if I'm not selling? I only BID with my paypal account and it is charged to my Mastercard. I have a $40,000 credit line with Mastercard!"

I've gone back to paying with checks & money orders ... paypal sellers lost out again.
