Definitely a book any Las Vegas collector should read! Much of the conventional so-called Hughes LV "history" is baloney while the REAL events are much more fantastic and interesting. Read about Hughes and the Landmark purchase to see what I mean.

For you real Howard Hughes nuts or airplane guys, there was an article about the Spruce Goose in yesterday's local fishwrap. http://www.oregonlive.com/oregonian/stories/index.ssf?/base/news/1193889315281760.xml&coll=7 Believe it or not, the plane is presently in an aviation museum about 20 miles from my home here in Portland, OR. I got to see it at the two places it occupied in Long Beach but haven't been out to the new display. Interesting factoid from the article...during the last move, "federal agents" shut down work for four days while they searched the plane looking for, well, who knows!
