Apart from the fact it is Greg's board and he sets the rules 100% (which is why anything goes), there are reasons why many long standing bb members choose not to respond to people who dont at least provide a real name.

Posters have turned out to be completely 'fake' after they managed to extort chips or donations to charity from other readers.
Posters have turned out to be regular bb users posting with false details purely to cause trouble.
Posters have deliberately used a fake name when asking questions about the value of an item. Usually this happens if that person actually has a quantity of valuable said item to sell and they dont want to either disclose that quantity or be recognised when the items hit the market place later.

A number of people have been burned so I understand the responses people sometimes give.
