I'm sure your pool days were over once you moved here...but, in the early 1980's to early 1990's the biggest action spot was The Rum Runner across from the Liberace Museum. The best road players from all over the country would pass through there at one time or another. Even when there were no road players in action, there was still a lot of money being bet.
One local businessman lost about $200,000, two new Lincolns & several of the trucks from his business, over the course of about 9 months around 1985. He kept a lot of money in a safety deposit box in the Orbit Inn. Would have to go down there & get paid sometimes.
Road players are a dying breed these days. There is not enough action anymore to support them & their bad habits.
