I'm just not knowledgeable enough to know the history behind the chip ( I received it in a trade and if I hadn't been forced to by circumstance I wouldn't be selling it, or for that matter the other chips in the auction!) or whether one guide is more accurate than the other, but I list my chips from TCR and, having been fortunate enough that someone sent me James's book I figured I should put comparisons in where I could find them - there just wasn't one for this chip.
I'm sure someone out there may know more?
