the on-line poker rooms' lack of concern regarding this possible problem. I don't play on-line often anymore, but one of the last times that I played at a Sit-N-Go, there were two players from the same city with a very similar screen name (same name with a different number -- ie: JoeBlow234 & JoeBlow268). They didn't get involved in hands together unless one needed chips and the other had some to spare...I mean it was so blatant. PokerStars response to my e-mail when I brought this to their attention was that "sometimes friends want to play at the same table with each other" and they saw no need to stop that...but they would investigate the past history of these two players.
If and when I do play Sit-N-Go's on-line, I have learned to check the lobby for similar names & same city players although, as you noted, you & I could also collude via the phone or "IM"ing. (As a side note, I played for the first time in a coupla weeks last night & did okay
!!).
Take care, buddy and thanks for calling me back Monday....
Oh wait....you DIDN'T!!!
