Berry, it depends on the strength of your black light. The pen types are fairly weak & do not show some UV's. I thought the same thing with a few chips but then I got a tube black light & everything showed up that didn't appear to be there before. For a quick & easy fix get yourself a black light globe & replace a normal globe in a lamp. Much better than the pens IMHO.
