Shorter serifs on the capital H
tail of the letter a is shorter and fatter
tail on the apostrophe is shorter
knobs on the ends of the letter s virtually touch the crossing stroke
Type 1a (? still not sure if that's what it is) -----
Letters are thinner
Longer serifs on the capital H (they almost touch)
tail of the letter a is longer and thinner
tail on the apostrophe is longer
more space between the ends of the letter s and the crossing stroke
There is zero possibility that these variations are a result of wear. The lettering in the two logos is definitely different.
BTW, just got another one of these in a trade. Both sides are the type 1 logo.
