... Calvin (mid-1990's old, that is), when Marv Weaver & I were section leaders on the CompuServe collectibles forum, desperately trying to get the few chip collectors around to post one or two messages a day! Greg Susong, the man who runs this board and makes the rules about what can and cannot be posted (and yes, Neal Silverman, too), were among the small group of us posting in those days. When Greg started the ChipBoard, the chip collecting community started becoming a family in a way that would never have been possible without him and this board.
Over the years, the ChipBoard evolved into something much more than a place to talk about chips. It became ... and remains ... a place where friends who usually see each other only once a year (or not even that for some) can come together in a familial (and generally congenial) setting to talk about the kinds of things friends talk about. Not just chips and other gaming memorabilia, but real world stuff, including those two no-nos, politics and religion.
It is EASY to skip over the posts in which you have no interest. I doubt if many people (other than Gene) read everything that's posted here, anyway. Why not just choose to read that in which you are interested and leave the squabbles to the squabblers. Believe me, some of us would rather read the politics, religion and bad jokes than the whining about the politics, religion and bad jokes.
By the way, IMO, you owe Greg an apology.
