I believe it is the FLAT CHAIN mold, pictured below (Howdy Herz' #30 mold; Borland's #52 mold --- 24 flat/squared links), that is the rare mold, that no one I know of has. I need a sample of the three molds pictured below, which includes the Flat Chain mold. Help!
The one Steve shows is Herz' #32 (16 links). It is quite rare, I believe. I have only two different samples.
Then there is a third chain mold -- Herz' #31 (20 links), which is on the common side.
Both #31 and #32 were owned/registered to the Hunt Co., Chicago Ill. (I got at least one of my #32's from someone connected to the old Hunt Co.)
(Incidentally, I have a 4th chain link mold chip : 16 squared links! I'll show it in another post in this thread.)
