Can include what I've been told is an average $600 for the artwork, additional charges for chips that have sides that are different, security devices like the PaulSon microdot, and watch for an actual radio transmitter inbedded into chips that will be invisible on the chip surface.
The technology has been achieved that will allow security to "read" the values of every chip in a stack placed on a bet, not because of coloring or edge markings, but due to radio transmissions from each chip in the stack. The developement of this type of micro-transmitter has been available for some time, BUT, the process of manufacturing a casino chip involves temperatures that have (until recently) destroyed the transmitter. Texas Instruments appears to have conquered the heat problem involved with this process, and Chipco should be able to start producing chips with these transmitters hidden in them in the very near future, and at less than $1 per chip for the added security.
Cool stuff!
