Kinda restless, was watching MNF but did you know, Howard and Dandy Don are gone now? Not as much fun. Decided to make a cup of coffee and kick back with my chips and stuff. Speaking of things that aren't as much fun anymore, LVA is going to have a QotD about the Showboat/Castaways tomorrow. Their histories used to be excellent but the last one I read over there , the Landmark, wasn't very good. Matches up well with their new retina ripping website look.

Something I can recommend is a dealie I found over at dieiscast.com by David Schwartz of UNLV. I usually stop by here but I missed it this last trip. Shoot, I bought my first C/W Official Guide at Gambler's. The leather-bound hardback with the LE Chipco in the front cover. Still got the receipt in it signed by Howard Schwartz!

Part II: Historic Vegas - Here we find several points along the Strip including that big vacant lot across from the Sahara and the coffee shop in the Sahara itself. The historic highlight of this coffee shop hadn't occured to me. Didja know about the Binion statue or the Elvis one?
